Just keep driving! Just keep driving! What do we do? We drive. Today we made our way to Billings, Montana. Montana seems kinda like Texas: drive for six hours and you're still in Montana. It seems never ending, but the scenery is good.
I think Alex has had a revelation. He's dragged his feet to everything, and done a lot of complaining, but after the facts, he realizes, hey that was actually fun. I didn't die and I learned something! The workings of an 11 year old mind are a mystery, but he seems to appreciate the trip. Success!
Tonight after we took some of the most glorious showers in another Hampton Inn, Mom and Dad took us to the Wynnsong Theatre to see Inside Out. We somehow managed to get there before the the previews started! Right before the movie began there was an adorable little short called "Lava." It was about this sweet little volcano who was lonely and every night he sang a song hoping for another volcano to be with. Then underwater there was a girl volcano and she listened to his song and she was growing bigger. Except for the guy volcano was sinking now. So they gift-of-the-magi it and he sank and she rose and they were both lonely again. Cut to me, sitting in the dark theatre saying to myself you are not going to cry over singing volcanos, you are not going to cry over singing volcanos.Guess who cried over singing volcanos. I sat in the theatre blubbering, "but they were in lava." It ended well with the girl singing the song and the the guy came back up and they sang their lava song again and it ended happily ever after.
Inside Out was one of the cutest movies I've seen in a while. It showed the thought process of the girl Riley. However there were also scenes with the characters in other peoples heads. It was really funny and poignant, so I highly recommend it.
We've really passed the climax of our trip, so it's going to be a lot of driving from here on out. Next stop is Bismarck, North Dakota, and then onto our friends in Wisconsin. Stay tuned!
